Last Tuesday (3 November 2020), the Dutch Second Chaimber of Parliament approved a proposal from the SP and GroenLinks concerning double court fees for so-called 'mega claims'. Mega claims are claims in the amount of 1 million in civil cases. The court fee in such cases amount approximately € 10.000,-.
However, it should be taken into account that the higher court fees only apply in proceedings between legal entities. If a natural person is involved in the proceedings, the lower court fees will continue to apply.
