On 30 June 2020, the Dutch First Chamber unanimously approved the Franchise Act. The aim of the Franchise Act is to balance the relationship between the franchisor and the franchisee. Working together and doing business more honestly. Among other things, it is determined what information the intended franchisee should receive before entering into the cooperation.
In addition, franchise structures are constantly subject to change. In the past, this could put pressure on the franchisee who was constantly adapting to new developments. Such interim changes are restricted by the Franchise Act.
